All women not doing work of National Importance are asked to volunteer now

1 Jan 1942

7 40 ALL WOMEN not doing work of National importance are asked to volunteer now for WRNS, ATS, WAAF Many thousands of women are needed now in the WRNS, the ATS and the WAAF, to release men for the offensive. Every woman who believes she can be spared from her present occupation is asked to volunteer for one of these Services. The nearest Recruiting Centre or Employment Exchange will know, or will quickly find out, whether your present work is even more important. If you were born between January 1918 and July 1922, you may now be accepted for the ATS and WAAF, but not for the WRNS unless you have special qualifications; you should go to the Employment Exchange in the first instance.
