Dress for the party…

1 Jan 1943

Dress for the Party... We take off 18.50 after briefing. It will be cold in the turrets— Plenty of clothes— three pullovers, roll top sweater, four pairs socks— Mother would laugh. Of course I wear 'em plus flying kit gloves and scarf— Now details— revolver, torch, pipe—baccy—thermos, hot coffee, money, clasp knife, matches— extra scarf and gloves!!! Yes, mother— I'll need 'em all.... and then some! chewing gum, chocolate, barley sugar, biscuits, clean rag. I worm myself into the turret, Helmet .
