She adds piquancy to meat, fish and vegetable dishes; and in puddings, pies and cakes, she's sweet and spicy. She's the making of Portman Pudding 6 ozs. flour, 4 ozs. each grated raw carrot and potato. Teaspoon mixed spice, 2 table- spoons sugar. Level teaspoon bicarbonate of soda, pinch of salt. 1/2 cupful of sultanas and raisins, 2 ozs.
