CENTRAL LAND BOARD The Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, transferred the development value in land and buildings from the individual to the State. (Development value is the difference between the actual worth of the property as it exists and as it is in fact being used, and its potential worth for development or for some other more lucrative use, e.g. agricultural—building; house—office.) This affects you in two ways if you owned or leased land or buildings on 1st July, 1948, you may have a claim on the £300 million fund provided for those who have lost the development value of their land.
