It just isn't true you know. Hang it man, I ought to know! l was employ- ing men before you were born! The Army turns out first-rate soldiers. Always did. But not one in ten is fit for immediate civil employment. That may have been true once sir, but not now. I happen to be a corporal in the new regular Army. What, travelling in civilian clothes? Didn't you know that we wear civvies off duty now? It's a sign of the times in Army life today.
