I've had it, chum…!

1 Jan 1946

"I've had it, chum...!" "The senseless tragedy of it!" said the Policeman afterwards. "This poor chap had come right through the war. And then, just for the sake of a bit of speeding, he goes and throws his life away on the road at home. I'd like to ask all you young fellows with motor bikes — is it worth it?" ¶ Every time you take your motor bike out—think! Isn't it better to slow down and be safe than open your throttle and be done for? Those daring swerves in crowded streets—do they really get you there much faster? Some 6,000 people are killed on the roads every year, and far too large a proportion of them are motor cyclists.
