Is she clever enough for the ATS?

1 Jan 1941

'Is 8 she clever enough for the A.T.S.?' Yes, of course, why shouldn't she be ? Every one can do at least one thing very well. And probably, if they only knew, better than the next person. That is all the A.T.S. ask. "Come and do the thing you understand, come and use your gifts to help us to outwit the enemy." Perhaps you are good at maths. Perhaps you are good at games. Perhaps you are clever with your hands. Come and use your skill in the A.T.S. They need scientists, they need good cooks, they need trained saleswomen, they need obliging waitresses.
