VD Shadow on health

1 Jan 1944

VD Shadow on HEALTH Since the war, venereal diseases have been increasing, and the number of new cases now stands at more than double the pre-war total. The first thing that everyone should know about venereal diseases is that they can be avoided—by clean living. They are spread by sexual intercourse with men and women who already have the disease. Syphilis and gonorrhœa—the two principal venereal diseases—are each caused by a different germ. But these germs cannot appear in the body of their own accord.
