1 Jan 1943

From a doctor's diary This is based on a doctor's experience of cases of V.D. It has been carefully edited so that the people concerned shall not be recognised. "'There are some things you just can't tell your Wife, doctor' That's what a patient confessed to me—he dared not tell his wife that he had caught syphilis. I replied, 'It's your duty to tell her; the risks of not doing so are too big to take. Let me give you an instance. Recently I saw a mother with a little girl of 4. The mother had got an ulcer on her nose which was spreading rapidly and was destroying the nostril.
