Lest we forget

1 Jan 1948

52 ISSUED Lest we forget ONLY THREE YEARS AGO, we people of Britain won a war. We won it less by the strength of our arms than by the spirit we showed when the odds were all against us. TO-DAY, WE HAVE A PEACE TO WIN. Our future as a nation depends on whether we work for prosperity and save for it with as much courage and determination as we showed in the dark days of Dunkirk. OF ALL THE CONSTRUCTIVE TASKS of peace, saving is perhaps the only one that the youngest and oldest of us can share. It is important and urgent.
