I'm often asked that question — and I'm very glad to have a chance of answering it, because there is still a widespread impression that venereal diseases are incurable. The answer is fairly simple. If either syphilis or gonorrhœa is treated in its early stages by a doctor who is skilled in this branch of medicine, failure to cure is rare. Of course, if anyone puts off being treated for any length of time, cure may be more difficult, and irreparable damage may be done to various parts of the body before the disease is checked.
