In that one year, Naafi distributed to H.M. Forces over £8,000,000 in cash and amenities—nearly double the figure for the previous year. Of this sum, a total of nearly £6,000,000 was distributed in cash—by monthly cheques paid to units for the benefit of the men, in proportion to the volume of the trade in their Naafi canteen.
