Naafi—always on its toes—is now on Calabria, long after the 8th Army landed upon the beaches of Not Naafi men and supplies had slipped across the Messina Straits to serve the victorious invaders. In the forward march of the Allies, Naafi takes its appointed place, its men—eager for action—cheering as the signal to go forward is received. They know that it must always be guns before canteens. But Naafi follows the fighting men as closely as the military commanders permit, and reduces to the minimum the space between the forward troops and the Naafi service of tea, beer, chocolate, cigarettes, razor blades and other little comforts which ease the burden of the campaign.
