Who got £100 million last year?

1 Jan 1950

WHO GOT £100 MILLION LAST YEAR? The sensible holders of National Savings earned this amount in interest on National Savings last year. Twenty-seven million people, like you perhaps, who had the sense to do them- selves a bit of good. There are 17 million accounts in Savings Certificates; 21 million accounts in the Post Office Savings Bank; 43/4 million accounts in Trustee Savings Banks. What's more, over 21/2 million new accounts were opened in 1949 by people who realise there's a future in saving for their future.
