408 who are the 7,000,000 members? ... They're the members of National Savings Groups and you'll find them in places of employment, in streets and villages, in schools and social organisations. Seven million people all doing themselves a bit of good through Savings Groups, saving an average of nearly 4/- per head every week. There are 185,000 Savings Groups in the United Kingdom and over 20,000 new groups were formed last year. During the 12 months October 1948—September 1949 the total amount saved through Groups was over £60 million.
