British farmers becomes more scrap-conscious

1 Jan 1940

THE HIDDEN MILLION There's a million tons of scrap iron and steel hidden in barns, fields and farm premises all over the country. For scrap, unlike other things we've been prodigal with in the past, doesn't disappear! To-day we need that scrap. We're lucky to have it. But it's hidden, and some of it is hidden on your farm. You've got as much as the next man—so turn it out. Get your neighbours to do the same and get in touch with your nearest scrap merchant or the County Secretary of the N.F.U. or get your scrap deposited on one of the village dumps that are being officially organised everywhere.
