Miss Naffy's overseas task

1 Jan 1945

374 Miss Naffy's Already hundreds of Naafi girls have gone to North Africa, the Middle East, Italy, France, Belgium and Holland — now they are in Germany itself. As the situation develops Naafi's service for the troops overseas becomes more widespread as well as more elaborate ... canteens must be opened, clubs must be established in large towns, and Services' shops are required. All these activities increase the call for more staff who are prepared to volunteer for service overseas. The Ministry of Labour and National Service now permits the recruitment of girls and women between the ages of 19 and 43 to join Naafi for service abroad, with the exception of those already employed on certain essential work, or with certain special qualifications.
