Dr Carrot: guardian of health

1 Jan 1944

"You need lots of protective Vitamin A," says Dr. Carrot. "Call me in regularly, and I'll guard your health." Carrots are one of the richest sources of Vitamin A; and they're plentiful, thanks to the British farmer. Look out for these carrot recipes— and improve your winter diet! Baked Potatoes with Carrot Sauce For four persons, take 4 large potatoes; large carrots; 2 teaspoonfuls each of mustard, cornflour, margarine, vinegar; salt and pepper to taste and a heaped tablespoonful of dripping. Scrub potatoes and cook 10 minutes in fast boiling salted water.
