The world press knows when to expect this communiqué; it is fairly long as it covers a period of 24 hours; it is drafted with a view to propaganda and it takes up so much space in the newspapers as to look impressive. It has been suggested to us from many quarters, including some service quarters, that we should adopt the German procedure. On the other hand there appear to be good reasons why we should not abandon our present practice. The Air Ministry like to issue their own communiqué as soon as possible after the operations.
