A file of correspondence, memoranda, and press material concerning East German propaganda. The documents contain a memorandum produced by the Committee for German Unity, a propagandist organisation controlled by the East German government, accusing the West German government of adopting an aggressively militaristic foreign policy that poses a "menace to peace and international security" through aiming to re-establish "the Greater German Reich". The documents also discuss an attack by the East German press against Adolf Heusinger, the chief of the West German armed forces, for allegedly being a close ally of Adolf Hitler; and the publication of a list in the East German press of senior generals in the West German army who reportedly held key roles within the Nazi Party during the Second World War. Other documents cover the publication of "secret documents" in the East German press claiming that the West German government is planning for war.
