Subjects covered in the file include the surrender of requisitioned accommodation by service departments; and discontent among the business community due to a shortage of office accommodation. Further discussions cover the future of the King George Club at 105 Piccadilly, which was requisitioned on behalf of the Y.M.C.A. and provides accommodation and canteen services for soldiers passing through London; and the demand of the Foreign Office for the return of accommodation that is being used by the India Office. The documents also cover proposals for the housing of the Imperial Defence College, and the suggestion that Montague House may be a suitable property; and a request from the Ministry of Labour that Norfolk House be used to house their department.
