The documents discuss the prevalence of various diseases within the British population; attempts to improve the nutrition of Britain's youth by increasing the provision of school meals; and the committee's attempts to increase Britain's industrial workforce by recruiting a significant number of young people. The documents also cover the rationing of various key resources, including paper, meat, and rubber; policy on increasing the number of doctors and nurses available to the British armed forces; the supply of food to Britain from overseas; and the impact of an ongoing famine in India on Britain's food reserves. Other documents comment on the payment of pensions to the families of ex-servicemen; and the implementation of restrictions on the transportation of non-essential" goods on Britain's railways."
