What do I do… to bottle fruit without sugar

1 Jan 1941

10 What do I do ... to bottle fruit without sugar? I realise the importance of bottling fruit this year, so that none shall be wasted. I put the fruit on to stew with just enough water to pre- vent the pan from burning. While the fruit is cooking, I prepare the bottling jars —any shape or size will do — by making them clean and hot. As soon as the fruit is cooked, I pour it into the hot jars up to a quarter of an inch from the top, and seal them immediately with four circles of thin paper, brushed with homemade paste.
