Let Dr Carrot protect you

1 Jan 1942

Let Dr Carrot protect you "Call me in often enough, and you'll keep well," says Dr. Carrot. Vitamin A is essential to good health; and carrots are one of its richest sources. Thanks to the British farmer there's a grand crop. Here's an attractive recipe that's new: Carrot and Creamed Potatoes Scrape and slice 11/2 lbs. of carrots; cook till tender in 3/4 pint of water, with a teaspoonful of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon sweet herbs. Dish up and keep hot, saving the water. Melt a little dripping, thoroughly blend into it a tablespoonful of flour, gradually stir in carrot liquor.
