My bit of comfort can't make any difference

1 Jan 1949

281 "It's always the poor housewife who has to suffer! Take all this 'Peak' nonsense — I don't cause Peaks, do I? I notice other people use all the electricity they want. To read all this 'go easy' stuff, you'd think my little electric fire was going to turn the country upside down." No! Your electric heating doesn't make any difference—when you use it outside the Peak Hours. Peak Hours are the times when homes, offices, shops and industry are all competing for electricity.
