Food Facts No.53 Milk

1 Jan 1941

127 MILK Your milk supply for next winter is assured. During the summer, when milk was plentiful, the Ministry of Food built up a reserve of condensed milk. Large supplies have been and still are arriving from overseas. We are to-day drinking far more milk than ever before. Unfortu- nately in the winter even the most patriotic cows give less milk—war or no war. If we all went on using liquid milk at the present rate, dur- ing the winter months, there would not be enough to go round. But there will be more than enough of condensed milk and milk powder to fill the gap.
