Fuel Communique No.21

1 Jan 1943

FOR FUEL THE FUEL WATCHERS In response to a request to factory manage- ments made by the Minister of Fuel and Power, Fuel Watchers, distinguished by their official badges, are now on duty in thousands of factories and industrial concerns. They are doing valuable work. The scheme is now being extended to non-industrial concerns such as Hotels, Clubs, Hospitals, Restaurants, Schools, Offices, Shops, Cinemas, etc. A number of establishments of this kind are being invited by letter to appoint a Fuel Watcher and to apply for an official badge from the Regional Coal Officer for their area.
