1 Jan 1949

282 ###at happens if I don't? "Switch off my electricity? It's crazy!" Why should I interfere with my comfort when other people are using all they want ? From my window I can see shops and signs using electricity till all hours of the night — yet when I want to use it I'm asked not to ! Who'll suffer if I don't switch off ? Not me ! But you will suffer—unless you understand this. It is only necessary to switch off during Peak Hours. You can use all the electricity you need—off Peak. And that is when the shop windows and signs are lit up.
