Grime doesn't pay!

1 Jan 1949

Are we going to have less dirt—and more nylons ? Less soot—and more plastics? Less grime—and more dol- lars? On how well we use our coal the answers must depend. Every year much of our coal is allowed to burn to waste, and all we have left to show for it is smuts and a sooty atmos- phere.
