gas makes the most of Britain's wealth

1 Jan 1949

thousands of miles of British roads—and the same tar is the source of thousands of the goods that are carried over those roads. One and a half million tons of that tar is produced every year by the Gas Industry as part of its contribution to Britain's industrial riches. Gas is the most versatile, and the most easily controllable of all fuels for all industrial purposes, from heat-treating alloy steels to cooking in the works canteen.
