1 Jan 1946

273 WHAT EXPORTS MEAN TO US Because we need imports ... we must pay Being a small country with a large population, we have to import a great deal of food and raw materials from the rest of the world. These imports are necessary to keep our factories working at full pressure, and to get our shops full of goods again.
