Cash Laugh at the man who hides his money in the chimney if you like — but wouldn't we be sillier if threw ours up the chimney, knowing we'd never see it again? Yet that's what we do when we burn 'raw' coal in grates and furnaces. We get a small proportion of the heat that coal can yield, and the rest is wasted — expen- silly to throw away our greatest sively — in soot, smoke and ashes. Just think of the cost of cleaning, painting and sweeping; the delays and damage of smoke-aggravated fog! up the chimney a long time.
