What do I do… to make sure that my kitchen scraps are not wasted?

1 Jan 1941

What do I do... to make sure that my kitchen scraps are not wasted ? I put them aside for pig food, but I take care that no bits of glass, china or metal are mixed with them. And I remember that pigs do not eat rhubarb leaves, eggshells, coffee grounds, tea leaves, fish bones, soda, salt, disinfectants, or anything that is acid, sour or mouldy. I know that bones yield glycerine for explosives, glue and fertilizers, so I keep these separate also. If I can boil them till they are as clean as a whistle (and get nourishing soup from them first) so much the better.
