Food Facts No.173 More oranges in the shops but most in the bottle

1 Jan 1943

271 FOOD FACTS MOST ORANGES in the bottle! Oranges are in the shops again, and there will be 2 lbs. each for the holders of green (R.B.2) ration books, and 1 lb. a head for the older children with the blue book (R.B.4). That's good news, but don't let it stop you from going to your welfare or distribution centre for the children's bottled orange juice and cod liver oil. After all, 2 lbs. of oranges doesn't mean many, six oranges at the most, and there's the juice of twelve oranges con- centrated in one bottle of orange juice.
