Food Facts No.37 Making the most of milk

1 Jan 1941

112 FOOD FACTS Number 37 Making the most of the MILK FROM April 13th onwards your milk supply will be reduced by about one seventh. The reason for this is that the Ministry of Food has to look ahead and put aside in the National Larder supplies of food that will keep for the winter when everyone needs more to eat. The milk that is saved will be made into cheese and tinned milk for store. There will be no reduction in supplies to mothers and children under the National Milk Scheme, to children in schools or to hospital patients.
