1 Jan 1949

Did you PRODUCTIVITY all buttoned up? IF you ever polished buttons, higher productivity. At first, it didn't take you long to learn about you quite likely worked on one button at a time. And then you saw the old hands ramming a whole line of buttons into the buttonstick and really getting weaving. So that was the way you did it from then on. You knew it was quicker. You could get the job done in less than half the time, with no more effort. That's higher productivity. Productivity' just a new- fangled word! The idea of raising productivity isn't new.
