It makes a lovely spicy cake—be sure to try it! FAMILY CARE 3 oz. sugar, 3 oz. margarine, 3 oz. grated raw potato, pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice, a little vanilla essence, 2 eggs (reconstituted), 6 oz. flour, 4 oz. chopped dates or sultanas, 1 teaspoon baking powder. METHOD: Cream sugar and margarine, add potato, beat well.
