I've got a pattern for productivity

1 Jan 1948

323 'I've got a pattern for PRODUCTIVITY' Busy Mrs. Brown wanted to make a full three- quarter length skirt—but she was short of two things. One was time, the other material. Some of her friends had used 3 or 4 yards. But could it be done with a mere 13/4 yards? A clever friend showed her the way out. The skirt was made in full ballerina style, with only four scissor cuts trimming of the hemline, and the simplest possible sewing. Quite a creditable job! And quite a bright example of higher productivity— using your brains before you use your hands.
