Why have we cut down our overseas purchases of food, tobacco and other goods by many millions of pounds sterling each month? Why are we postponing our plans for £200 millions of new buildings and machinery and putting the materials into the Export Drive? To get Britain out of debt? To pay for our bread and butter? Quite true, but not the whole story.
