1 Jan 1942

THE BATTLE FOR FUEL DON'T BE BEATEN ON THE POST "He had the race in his pocket, then ..." "She was five games to one in the second set, having won the first, then ..." "They were leading 5 goals to nil at half-time, then ..." "He was four up and five to play, then ..." "He'd bought the ring, fixed the date, then ..." What happened? HE, SHE and THEY RELAXED, and lost the race, the tennis match, the football match, the golf match and the girl. MORAL If fuel-savers relax or weaken in the saving, every day in every way, of coal, coke, gas, electricity and paraffin, we shall lose all the gains we have made through our savings in September, October and November and we shall NOT win the Battle for Fuel.
