MINISTRY OF SUPPLY On and after JAN. 1ST it will be AN OFFENCE to run TYRES with the FABRIC SHOWING Under the Motor Vehicles (Restriction of Use) (No. 2) Order, 1942 which comes into force on January 1st, 1943: " No person shall use or cause or permit to be used on a highway any vehicle on any of the running tyres of which the cotton or similar fabric is visible." The vehicles to which this Order applies are mechanically- propelled vehicles and trailers drawn by such vehicles, all the wheels of which are fitted with pneumatic tyres.
