Sweet ways with PLUMS & APPLES 253 CRUSTY PLUM ROLL Ingredients (for four): 4 oz. plain flour, 1 level teaspoon baking powder, 1 oz. mar- garine, 1 oz. semolina, water to mix, 8 oz. plums, stoned and chopped, 1 level table- spoon sugar, 1/2 level teaspoon nutmeg, 2 level tablespoons syrup, 1/4 pint water, 1/4 oz. margarine. Method: Sieve the flour and baking powder together, rub in the margarine and add the semolina. Mix to a stiff dough with a little water and roll into an oblong. Mix the plums, sugar and nutmeg together, spread on the pastry and roll up like a swiss roll.
