It shows the consumption of electric power in Great Britain hour by hour. The actual amount used would be of value to the enemy so this is kept out of the picture. 3. Note that between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. there is a peak or climax. This is when the war factories are using most electricity. 4. This peak throws a strain on the generating stations and makes them burn more coal.
