Just one for the road! Don't be tempted [by the Traffic Jimp]

1 Jan 1949

373 DON'T BE TEMPTED The Traffic Jimp sometimes comes indoors. He may disguise himself as a hospitable friend. "Just a little one!" he says. "One won't hurt you." It may hurt you or someone else very badly indeed. Like the Jimp, alcohol deceives. You may feel you are driving well —but in fact your alertness is dulled, your reactions slowed. Don't risk it. Don't drive when you're tired — and don't try to cure tiredness with a drink. Remember the Highway Code — and mind how you go. Issued by the Ministry of Transport JUST ONE FOR THE ROAD.
