Serve quickly cooked vegetable soups, based on vegetable water or stock made from meat cubes or vegetable extract. them nourishing and sustaining enough for a main dish by adding builder — milk, cheese, eggs, fish, meat, beans, peas or soya. Or try Make broths, made with part of the meat ration, served instead of meat. Because it leaves them no appetite for a meat course, children should not be filled up with large servings of soup, unless the soup is a main dish containing a good helping of builder.
