Forgotten the bread? Send [young child] Mary. Don't listen to the Traffic Jimp

1 Jan 1949

373 DON'T LISTEN TO THE TRAFFIC JIMP Even if you're tired, even if you're busy, don't listen when the Traffic Jimp suggests sending a young child to face traffic alone. Every week, over 400 children on foot are killed or injured. The most dangerous age is about live. But few children under seven are safe by themselves if there are streets to cross. Even older children should only be allowed alone in traffic if they have learnt Kerb Drill. Teach it to yours — repeat it until they really learn the lesson.
