Dr Carrot: the childrens friends

1 Jan 1942

Every teacher knows how the lack of apples is felt by the children. Not only is it depriving them of a very real plea- sure, but it is also depriving their teeth of the benefits of apple-munching, and their bodies of the apple's healthful vitamins. A raw carrot is a useful substitute for an apple, and teachers are doing their scholars a real service when they en- courage them to eat a well-washed raw carrot a day while they can't get the proverbial apple. Most children love raw carrots and will eat them readily.
