But here's a recipe that tastes very good, is unusual, and doesn't need much sugar. It doesn't take long to prepare either. Spice Pie 1 lb. carrots grated fine. 2 dessertspoons sugar. 1/2 tea- spoonful mixed sweet spice. 1 heaped dessertspoon cornflour. 1 lb. short or potato pastry. Put the grated carrot into a saucepan with the sugar and spice, and the cornflour previously mixed with 1/2 pint of water.
