Food advice centre (Blackburn)

1 Jan 1941

MINISTRY OF FOOD FOOD ADVICE CENTRE May we help you? The Ministry of Food has two main responsibilities. The first is the obvious task of securing our national food supplies and controlling their distribution in order that everyone may obtain a fair share at a reasonable price. Rationing, and the fixing of maximum prices for all essential food- stuffs, are examples of this control. There is, however, a second important part of the Ministry of Food's work. This is to make available to all, expert advice and friendly guidance in making the best use of available food supplies — a helping hand for the housewife.
