The potato comes into its own

1 Jan 1941

MINISTRY OF FOOD THE POTATO COMES INTO ITS OWN THE importance of home-grown food is already greater than at any time in the last war. Food imports must be reduced as much as possible. Potatoes are one of the most useful of the home grown foods, and one giving energy and bodily warmth as well as protection against illness. THE country has to thank British Farmers and Growers for their efforts, resulting in excellent supplies of potatoes for the difficult months which may be ahead. Scientists have stressed that we would do well to eat 12 ozs.
